LAS VEGAS
(January 31, 2008) - Several expert speakers will be on hand to enlighten attendees at the expanded Bingo Mexico & Americas on March 4, part of the 12 th annual BingoWorld Conference & Expo, the world’s largest bingo show, which continues through March 6 at the South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa here.
Produced jointly by BNP Media Gaming Group and Harrison & Montoya Associates, a leading gaming advisory firm serving the Latin American market, Bingo Mexico & Americas is the only dedicated conference of its kind in the country. The half-day conference will examine the most vibrant and fastest growing bingo markets in Latin America. Simultaneous translation in English and Spanish will be provided.
“We have already received support from key individuals involved in gaming in Latin America, and also from vendors participating in these growing markets,” said Charles Anderer, Senior Events Manager, Gaming, for BNP. “Anyone interested in learning more about the region will appreciate the learning and networking opportunities this conference provides.”
The keynote speaker is Licenciado Ezequiel González Matus, former Director General of Gaming in the Ministry of Interior of Mexico from 2004 to 2006. Additional confirmed speakers include:
- Former Ambassador Eduardo Jimenez Gonzalez, attorney for gaming interests in Mexico, Caribbean and Central America
- Lic. Carlos Jimenez, President, Bingames Entertainment Mexico
- Gustavo Ranuci, Vice President, Bingo Association of Argentina
- Lic. Martin Sanchez, former Director General of Gaming in Ministry of Interior Mexico
- Charles Harrison (Moreira), Chief Executive Officer, SSG Dominicus LLC
- David Delgado, Vice President International Sales and Marketing, Arrow International
- Gary Loebig, Executive Vice President of Sales, Multimedia Games, Inc.
- Karen Marcela Sierra-Hughes, Gaming Development Representative, Gaming Laboratories International
Sessions include a political and regulatory overview of Class II gaming in Mexico, where a new 20% federal tax on gaming establishments became effective January 1 and where operators are pushing for greater regulatory clarity and a rollback of competition from illegal casinos. Mexico’s rapidly expanding 40,000 machine market is attracting an increasing number of manufacturers looking to capitalize on the growth.
A second session looks at bingo through Mexico, South America and the Caribbean, which takes many forms from traditional paper to the latest in electronic and Class II games. The conference wraps up with a detailed look at the various types of bingo games operated throughout the region, exploring the differences in player tastes from country to country particularly in those markets such as Argentina where the crossover between traditional bingo and video bingo is increasing.
